We are committed to helping older adults maintain their highest levels of independence.

Our Mission

The mission of the Arrowhead Area Agency on Aging is to support successful aging in the Arrowhead.

The Arrowhead Area Agency on Aging (AAAA) is the agency designated by the state to address the needs and concerns of all older persons at the regional and local levels in the Arrowhead Region.

AAAA contracts with local service providers to deliver many direct services, such as meals, caregiver support programs, transportation, and in-home services.

Planning staff with the AAAA work to address service gaps in the region, provide support to partner organizations, and provide advocacy for aging services

“Everyone deserves to age with dignity. The challenge for America’s older adults? Too many older adults don’t have the resources they need to age well.”

We Are Celebrating 50 Years Of Incredible Service

Last week, at USAging’s 48 Annual Conference and Tradeshow in Salt Lake City, they released an updated version of the Local Leaders in Aging Well at Home brochure, which provides a snapshot of the evolving role Area Agencies on Aging play in the planning, development, coordination and delivery of a broad range of aging and other home and community-based services in every community in the United States.

ARDC is committed to building an inclusive culture that encourages and supports the diverse voices of our employees and of the communities we serve.

The Arrowhead Area Agency on Aging is the designated Area Agency on Aging (AAA) for the 7 counties in Northeast Minnesota by the Minnesota Board on Aging. AAA’s are charged with the administration, service development, advocacy and access to Federal Title III Older American Act (OAA) services available to persons aged 60 and older and family caregivers; however, OAA services are prioritized to serve those with the greatest economic need and greatest social need, particularly low-income minority older individuals, older persons with limited English proficiency (LEP), older persons residing in rural areas, and older persons with disabilities.
