SUMMARY:Nature As We Age: Connecting People\, Place\,  and Purpose
DESCRIPTION:We’re celebrating aging and nature in Northeastern Minnesota! \nPlease join us for Nature As We Age: Connecting People\, Place\, and Purpose\, a regional convening focused on strengthening connections between older adults\, nature\, and community across Northeast Minnesota. \nWe are excited that Larry Weber will be our keynote speaker! \nAll are welcome! This event is designed for community members\, volunteers\, nature-based and outdoor recreation organizations\, aging services professionals\, community nonprofits\, caregivers\, and anyone interested in supporting healthy aging through nature. \nAt the convening\, participants will: \n\nExplore the physical\, mental\, and social benefits of nature\nDiscover practical\, adaptable ways to advance age-inclusion\, learn how to remove barriers\, and explore programs that can be scaled across Northland communities\nStrengthen cross sector relationships and build a collaborative approach that unites aging services\, health\, parks and recreation\, and volunteers\n\nThe day culminates with identifying concrete next steps toward a shared regional vision: ensuring that people\, place\, and purpose remain deeply connected through nature as we age. \nFollowing the formal program\, attendees may choose to participate in one of three optional experiences: \n\nA tour of Ecolibrium3’s Urban Farm on Lake Superior College’s Campus (only 40 spots available)*\nA guided nature walk with Larry Weber (only 20 spots available)*\nStory collection with Arrowhead Area Agency on Aging and MN StoryCollective\n\n*Must pre-register for optional end-of-day experience due to limited spots available \nLunch provided by Corktown Eatery and Bar\n$15 Suggested Donation* \n*Donations help support age-friendly work in our region\, but no one will be turned away based on inability to pay.
