Transportation Equity: Solutions for ALL

“Transportation is the vital link that connects older adults to social activity, economic opportunity, and community services that support their independence. Without transport, people are less able to remain in their homes and communities as they age…Safe, affordable, accessible, dependable, and user-friendly transportation options are needed to overcome the physical limitations associated with aging.” ~ AARP Policy

As we live longer, healthier lives, a variety of transportation options (including walking and biking) are more important than ever. Learn about the changing demographic of Minnesota and why transportation is important. The Georgia and Ashley will define transportation equity as a way to achieve mobility and accessibility to meet the needs of all community members. They will discuss why transportation is so important to healthy aging. They’ll showcase innovative transportation work happening throughout the Arrowhead and outline potential funding opportunities for transportation projects.
